We believe in providing the best opportunities for our children of all ages and abilities so that they can show the highest of standards in the very broadest sense of our curriculum. We like to feel that we can really make a difference in our children’s lives by building a purposeful partnership with our families. Our children demonstrate outstanding behaviour and really are a joy to teach. All the staff in the school are fully involved in the daily life of the school to ensure that our children get the most out of their learning, enjoy their school and make a positive contribution to our community.

Our team of staff bring a wide range of experiences and expertise to the school to provide our pupils with an exciting curriculum and also look for ways to make the learning journey enjoyable and memorable for us all.

We recognise that before children join our Foundation Stage they have already acquired a wide range of experiences, knowledge and understanding from both their families and their community. As children begin their schooling we plan thoroughly using the nationally agreed Foundation Stage curriculum to focus on teaching the skills the children need to underpin their learning.

We benefit from small classes so that all of our children receive plenty of individual attention and we build strong trusting relationships. Also we gain from our Foundation Stage children working alongside our Year 1 children and forming good friendships that last through the school. So children and families who join our school quickly settle in and make friends.

Clearly, at the beginning, establishing friendships and understanding school routines are most important to the child feeling safe, secure and happy and therefore ready to learn but we are also starting to assess their needs and provide appropriate activities. If we have any concerns we will contact you to make an appointment to discuss any issues and I would urge you to do the same. A problem shared early on is often resolved quickly and by working together we are able to address any issues that may arise.
